Abstract

The nature of crime is changing with the proliferation of complex social structures and various scientific and technological advancements. Nowadays, criminals often use sophisticated methods to commit crimes, and the crimes are increasing at an alarming rate, so laws are constantly being updated and stronger to stop and control the crime rate. Our existing legislations increase the scope of using forensic science, which improves the way of the investigation and significantly assists court proceedings. So forensic science is essential for law enforcement agencies in criminal investigations to establish the link between crimes and criminals. In a criminal investigation, forensic investigators use a wide range of scientific methods from the chemical, biological, and physical disciplines to solve crimes and bring criminals to justice. It collects and analyses tangible evidence, such as fingerprints, DNA, hair and fibres. As forensic evidence is the ultimate result of forensic science, so the court relies on forensic evidence to ensure justice.
