Abstract

Islam holds a pivotal position in shaping the legal framework of Pakistan, where the majority of the populace identifies as Muslim. The Quran and Hadith, as primary sources of Islamic jurisprudence, deeply influence Pakistani law alongside the Constitution. This research article provides a comprehensive analysis of the intersection between Islam, Quran, Hadith, and Pakistani law, exploring historical underpinnings, constitutional provisions, and practical implications. Emphasizing the Objectives Resolution of 1949 as a foundational document, the study examines how Pakistan's legal system integrates Islamic principles into legislation and judicial proceedings. The Quran, revered as the holy book of Islam, offers guidance on diverse legal matters, while the Hadith provides supplementary insights through the recorded actions and sayings of Prophet Muhammad. The incorporation of Islamic law into Pakistan's legal framework has led to the enactment of various statutes, such as the Hudood Ordinances, aimed at aligning legislation with religious precepts. However, challenges persist regarding the compatibility of these laws with modern legal standards and human rights principles. By analyzing judicial interpretations and contemporary debates, this article elucidates the ongoing dialogue between religious values and legal principles in Pakistan, contributing to a nuanced understanding of the dynamic relationship between Islam and Pakistani law.
